Our charity this year is Books From Birth, which gives books to kids.  In Davidson County (where we hold Hypericon) alone, they've donated over 1.2 million books since 2005!!!

WORST FIRST LINE EVAH!!!

Friday night will be our Worst First Line contest. Write a hypothetical sentence that would be the first of a story that would make us cringe, groan, or otherwise react in such a way that we might not want to read any more unless we are a glutton for punishment or want to prove that a writer that awful really exists. Read it to our grateful audience and, if you are voted Hypericon 2013’s Worst Author we promise to keep it to ourselves.

It is time once again for the 5^th annual Hypericon Spam Slam. This is where you read you favorite Spam email as poetry and the audience votes on the winner. This has been a very entertaining event at Hypericon that has been going on for 13 years.

Pre-Registration

If you're planning to come to Hypericon we strongly encourage you to pre-register.

There are two good reasons to do this:

 First, you'll save ten dollars. The pre-reg rate is currently $35. It will remain $35 until we close pre-registration on June 10, 2013. After 6/10 you will only be able to buy memberships at the door and the price will go up to $45.

 Second, we need your help. The more pre-registration memberships we get, the more stuff we will be able to provide you on the first day of the convention. We are really happy that we'll be able to bring the consuite back but it costs money to do so.

So, please enter your information into the widget on the right of the page. Even if you don't have a PayPal account you can use a debit/credit card.
